On this page you will find information about a small, but slowly growing private collection.

The main aim is to have at least one item from every chinese dynasty from Neolithic to the 1920:s

There s a short information about the items below each picture

The oldest item in the collection
a neolithic cup from about 2300 BC
It´s from the Majiayao-culture, height 12 cm

New A jue cup from Xia dynasty,2070BC-1600BC
Note the very early taotie figure with two big eyes on the handle and a big mouth under.
Note the very slim bones on the cup and think about the potter,
more than 4000 years has passed since it was crafted. About 18 cm

New A rare cup from the older part of the Xiajiadian culture
during the Neolithic era, about 2200-1600 BC, made from grey fired clay. Height about 10 cm
Xiajiadian-culture was first known as late as in the 1970

New Fine and rare tripod pot from Shang Dynasty 1700 - 1027 B.C
decorated by rope-patterns. Height about 15 cm

New A Dou from the Zhoudynasty, about 900-255 BC.
A Dou is a stemvessel for keeping food warm . It can also have been used in rituals.
There are similar items made in bronze long before Zhou. Height about 25 cm

you can see the inscription, written in archaic, chinese signs
the predecessor of chinese writing of today

A figure from the Han dynasty
206 f.Kr. till 220 e.Kr.
Originally this figure would have had hands made of wood
and maybe been holding something as well. Height 20 cm
There are remains of original painting on the figure

Pottery figure, China Suidynasty c:a 600 AD
Yellow glazed clay with traces of original paint Height 17 cm

A beutifully Lion-yellow coulored, glazed winebottle
from Liao, Northern China 600-900 AD
including Manchuria and Mongolia. Height 25 cm

The wellknown Tangdynasty is partly during the same time as the Liao
ruling the north . This clay figure is a skinny lady
of the type mostly called "fat lady".
But this thin woman figure will here represent the Tangdynasty
lasting from 618-907 AD. Height 15 cm

A vase from the Songdynasty 960-1279
beutifully glazed and well preserved. Height about 10 cm

Greenish celadonglaze on this fragile bowl
from Northern Song dynasty, about 1100 AD
Celadon is originally the name of a character in a french tale
by Honore d'Urfes , L'Astree (1627)
This character was named Celadon and wore green ribbons.

A small jarlet, early, blueandwhite porcelain,
excavated, paintings of lotus flower. Height 5 cm
Yuan dynasty 1271 to 1368 AD.

New Green-glazed Mingfigure, a musician, His red cap is coldpainted AD 1400-1500 Height 22 cm

The NanHai-ship sank in 1460 with cargo of newly made porcelain,
among it this little Celadon Jarlet
excavated by divers after 600 years. Height about 5 cm

A beautiful bowl from the height of the Ming-era,
with lively, sweeping, vegetative loops on the outside.
Mark and time, Ming Wanli 1576-1620, this and two more pictures,
showing the cavetto and the six chinese signs spelling
"Great Ming Wan Li"

Huge brown-glazed floor vase, height 54 cm, Ming Dynasty 1600:s

Nytt Two very fine Kendi´s, wine- or watervessels from the Mingdynasty c:a 1600-1650 Height 22 cm

You could drink from them, yet never touching the vessel with your mouth. Healthy.

Wanted by many and beautiful, they´re gems in my collection.
Maybe I will sell one of them this autumn. Email me if you are tempted..

Nytt The transitional era is the end of Ming and the start of Qing 1620-1683.
This Jarlet, height 11 cm is under-glazed in five colours, that is named "wucai".
It´s decorated with flowers, probably peony´s.

Nytt A reversed blue and white cup with saucer from about 1700.
KangXi-emperor is considered to be the greatest emperor during Qing
with a long reign.
Cup and saucer are reversed in the blue and white. under-glaze painted,
with the white left unpainted forming the pattern. Cup, height 12 cm , and saucer about 15 cm
The motifs are "ruyi", signs of happiness, Lotus flowers and loops

A tea-caddy, 1700:s AD, export-porcelain from he kilns in Jingdezhen
where kaolin clay has been crafted and fired
from Han-dynasty and to this day.Height about 12 cm

Ginger Jar, blue and white porcelain,
used for many purposes as a household container
China, Oing dynasty, 1800:s, height about 22 cm

19th century bowl, Guangxu emperor with patterns "An Bai Xian"
symbolizing the tools of the eight immortals from daoism.
bottom "Guanyao Zeizao" mark(internal production mark from the den official kiln).
Provenance: The Missionary Karl Axel Fernström, manager of the missionary station Ichang in China 1890-1925

China late 1800:s, Qing dynasty, height about 22 cm

Nytt Three small lockboxes, made for keeping seals
All three in different techniques, the white is "blanc de chine",
the blue and white, underglaze-painted
och the coloured is famille rose
All made in Dehua, Fujian provinse in South China,
known for exporting to south-eastasia .
Dehua is also known for blanc de chine , the white-glazed porcelain.

The smallest item in the collection, a turtle made in Burmese green jade
worn on belts or bags for protection against evil
through to the 1900:s
Very well crafted, knowing Jade is hard as steel,
Size: 2 cm

That´s the collection. When it will grow, new picture will be uploded here.
Right now I´m looking for some vase or bowl in Doucai-style,Kangxi or Guangxu,
some item from the early Jin-era och maybe something in cloissone.
